About Redan HIUs
Redan is a Danish manufacturer of district heating substations and heat interface units. Denmark has run district heating at national scale for decades, and Redan units reflect that heritage — they are built for networks where low return temperatures are treated as a design requirement rather than an afterthought.
In London that heritage is a mixed blessing. Redan units are capable of excellent return temperature performance, but only when the primary network they are connected to is operating as intended and the unit was commissioned to suit it. Where a Redan unit underperforms, the cause is as often the wider system or the original commissioning as the unit itself.
